The Autopot Easy2Propagate Basic Kit is the tray, lid and media from the full kit (available here). This kits doesn’t contain an Aquavalve to control the water level in the tray, or the pipework to connect it to a tank. This could be a good option if you already have those components, saving you some money. The size of the Easy2Propagate Kit is quite large at 1200mm x 550mm (tray measurements) and the lid is a huge 200mm tall. This makes it one of the largest single piece propagators around and really gives plants the room to grow.
In the bottom of the tray sits a coco mat that absorbs the perfect amount of water. A root control sheet goes on top of the coco and the plants sit on that. Root Control sheets stop the roots making their way into the coco, which would damage them when moving the plant. As the plant uses water, more wicks up through the coco and into the root zone. For optimal results, use a heat mat to reach a temperature of around 25 degrees, and a humidity of 80%.
The lid of the Easy2Propagator has 4 inlet holes so you can position the Aquavalve wherever you need it. It also has 4 ventilation holes in the top so you have more control over the environment inside. Please be sure to peel off the film layer when you get it – it’s their to protect the clear plastic from scratches in transit. Leaving it on will reduce light reaching the plants.
