RAW Cane Molasses is a high concentrate, water-soluble molasses that is easier and less messy to use than liquid versions. The concentration is such that even the smallest 2oz packet is equivalent to a gallon (4.5L) of liquid molasses, making it far easier to transport. Molasses are a potent source of carbon energy for beneficial microbes and is suitable for use alongside any nutrient feeding regime.
How does RAW Cane Molasses help the plant?
During photosynthesis, plants make sugars from carbon dioxide and light (it’s not that simple, but this is no place for a botany lesson!). Some of these sugars go towards structuring a framework to build more plant tissues and others are “burned” for energy. This fuels rapid growth, reproduction and cell repair. Excess carbs go into storage or pass into the media to feed beneficial microbes in the root zone. By adding molasses, you are feeding these organisms directly. That means plants can use more energy in growth and flowering leading to increases in quality and quantity of harvest.
RAW Cane Molasses are for feeding micro organisms and so your plants will take up very little for itself. Both simple and complex carbs are available for microbes, which then produce growth hormones, amino acids, vitamins and other bio-stimulants. Always follow the manufacturers instructions for best results. If you are making a compost tea to give to your plants, RAW Cane Molasses is a perfect addition to the brew. It is a fantastic food source for the bacteria and fungi in the root zone. As it is a fine powder, it dissolves easily, making it readily available.
Dosage: 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon per gallon (Approx 4.5L) of water.
One of the best things about RAW powders is the number of single component products that make up the range. Using these, you can create “recipes” that really tailor to what your plants need at specific times. You can find some of these recipes on our website by following this link. Should you think your plants are missing just a little of one particular element, RAW powders are great for that too! You can find more information on this, and all the other RAW nutrients and additives on the NPK Website. (Opens a new window in your browser).
