The 1ml Syringe is a very handy tool in the grow room! They are great for measuring nutrients accurately before adding it to the water tank. Simply place the end of the Syringe into the nutrient, ensuring the plunger is all the way in. Then, slowly pull the plunger up, keeping a careful eye on the level. When it reaches the amount you need, take it out and put it into the nutrient tank.
They all have markings up the side to indicate divisions of millilitres. The 1ml Syringe is great for accurate dosing when using high concentrate nutrients and additives. A good example of this would be Roots Excelurator from House and Garden which doses at 0.3ml per litre.
Each Syringe is sterile when you buy it, having a factory seal. You can be sure no impurities or pathogens will come from them! Always be sure to keep them clean between uses to help keep things healthy in the grow room!
How to use a 1ml Syringe with large nutrient bottles.
The trick to using a syringe with a large, deep bottle is a short length of tubing. Place the tube into the nutrient bottle, allowing a little to stick out the top. Attach the Syringe to the tube and use in the normal way, pulling the plunger until the nutrient flows into it. When it gets to where you want it, detach the tube and pump the nutrient into the water tank. Please don’t use the tube as part of this step. The tube will be full of feed too and will lead to an overdose in your plants. The syringes are calibrated to be measured from the tip to the lines on the side.
