Foil Duct Tape is what many call aluminium, or silver duct tape. It consists of a thin foil strip with a very sticky back. The sticky surface has a paper backing which you peel off before use.  A staple tool in any growers tool box! It is easy to handle and lengths are easy to tear off by hand. After tearing off a length, it is best to peel off a little backing and apply. As you wrap it around, peel more backing off as you go. If you take the whole lot off, it can roll on itself, causing a big, shiny mess!

Foil Duct Tape is a highly adhesive tape that has countless uses in the grow room. Common uses of duct tape include attaching reflective sheeting to grow room walls or connecting ventilation ducting to carbon filters and fans. Foil Duct Tape is an extremely useful thing to have to hand for making emergency patch repairs. This can include split bags of growing media or holes in ducting channels. Duct Tape is available in 45 metre rolls. Whichever type of duct tape you use, it has a place in every grow room with plenty of uses beyond.

What are the alternatives to Foil Duct Tape?

At Canterbury Hydroponics, we have a couple of other types of tape available for different jobs. Cloth Duct Tape is a roll of fibrous material with a very sticky backing, which many prefer for use as it is a little easier to use than the Foil Duct Tape. It is also great for taping ducting securely to fans and filters. X-Weave tape is much like foil tape, but has reinforcing webbing in it, making it the strongest tape we have. Other products for fixing ducting to fans and filters are the Ducting Clip and the A.V Clip, which helps prevent vibrations. All tapes and clips are on our website, here.
