The G.A.S AC-EC Digital Fan Controller is a highly flexible piece of kit that can control both EC and AC fans at the same time. This is great if you upgrade your outtake fan to EC but still use an AC as an intake. There is an AC in and AC out socket as well as connections for EC in and out, giving you amazing flexibility with a single controller.
Each fan is programmable for maximum and minimum speeds. Many growers set the maximum speed at 100% to give more range of speeds, but if noise is a concern, you can keep the fan from getting too fast. Ideally the slower speed would never be set to 0%, as you’d always want air coming in for effective gas exchange. Of course, if you want it to be off, that’s perfectly possible! You can also set the humidity level you want as well as the temperature, and the fans will run to try and achieve both.

There is also a fan balancer in the AC-EC Controller, which allows accurate setting of negative pressure. This can be very important in some situations as a positive pressure with push unfiltered air out of the room anywhere it can. Under doors, out of roof eaves, windows with poor seals and so on etc can all leak smelly air out of the room. By maintaining the correct balance between the fans, this will never be an issue. Any air that leaves the room must do so via the carbon filter, scrubbing it of odours.
Finally, one of the handiest features of this controller is the ability to separate day and night periods. During the lights on phase, temperatures may rise due to light from heat, and plants need more CO². Naturally, more air flow would solve this issue but it might not be as suitable at night. You can now set the fans to run at a slower speed (or faster is you wish!) at night. The controller has a built in light sensor to determine when the dark phase is.
