The Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter 250 x 600 is an ideal product for filtering on a budget or for small scale grows. Smaller applications for these filters may include propagation or keeping a mother plant ticking over. They will also perform well throughout the grow and flowering phases too, should you need it to. They are still the same quality you expect from Rhino, they just use a thinner bed of carbon inside. Instead of a 50mm bed like the Pro Filter has, the Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter has a 30mm bed of the same Australian RC412 carbon. This type of carbon is so full of surface pores and holes, its surface area is truly enormous. These allow the capture of large amounts of odour molecules which keeps your exhaust air cleaner.
The Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter features a reversible neck so will need a little assembly when you buy it. Therefore they come in a smaller size box than their Pro counterparts making transport a little easier. The filters themselves are smaller and lighter than the pro versions, making installation slightly easier too! Rhino recommend the Hobby Filters have a lifespan of between 9 and 12 months depending on environment and use. A higher volume of air passing over the carbon, for example, will cause it to “fill up” faster thus reducing life. High humidity also reduces lifespan, the same as any carbon filter.
