The Mist Maker 5 Bucket Kit is a great way of increasing the humidity in your room, right up to 100%. The powerful and compact units use ultrasonic vibrating plates to create a mist of very fine droplets. This is highly beneficial to young plants; especially cuttings. Cuttings and seedlings do not have big root systems with which to draw up moisture and as the water is lost through the leaves, the plant can quickly suffer. By ensuring there is a mist around them, there is no danger of the plants drying out. Mist Maker 5 units are also great for use throughout the vegging cycle to enhance growth. Be sure to turn it off when the flowers develop as damp flowers will quickly lead to bud rot!
Mist Makers require no wiring and plug straight into the wall using a standard UK plug. You can also use them with a suitably rated timer to give periodic misting. The specially coated plates require less changing than cheaper versions but please be aware that they will need replacing at some point. The unit begins working as soon as power is on and each set of plates should last up to 2000 hours. Replacement plates are available on our website, here. RO water is best for plates and plants as it’s free of minerals that can accumulate and cause issues.

The bucket can be set up with the BigFloat, connected to a larger reservoir such as a water butt. The Mist Maker produces the mist, which slowly lowers the water level in the bucket. When this happens, the float drops, opens the valve and more water flows in. As the float rises, it closes off the valve, stopping the water coming in. The only limit to how long it can keep going is the size of the water butt. A great option for continuous mist generation; the maximum output being 1600ml/hr. There is also a Mist Maker 5 Tank Kit if the bucket is too small, or the Mist Maker 3 Bucket Kit and Tank Kit if they suit your needs better.
