The Rhino Pro Carbon Filter 100 x 300 is a great odour control product to use with 100mm fans. They have a dense bed of RC412 carbon inside which is the best activated carbon in the world for its purpose. The carbon in the filter is 50mm deep which gives a truly enormous surface area for trapping odour molecules. The body of the filter is an aluminium construction making it lighter and easier to handle. This is especially handy for some of the bigger sizes! The central chamber has a bottom in the shape of a cone. This improves air flow, directing it upwards toward the fan.
How to best use a Rhino Pro Carbon Filter 100 x 300
For best results, the extraction fan should be as close to the filter as possible. It is common to join the fan directly to the filter using tape or a large clip. The fan then creates a vacuum inside the filter which sucks air through the carbon. This is why the fan should be close to the filter. The extra air volume inside a length of ducting would reduce the effects of the suction. As the air in the grow room passes through the carbon, it traps odour molecules, stopping them passing. The carbon does not destroy the molecules, instead it stores them. The massive surface area of the carbon means that a Rhino Pro Carbon Filter should last about 2 years and maybe more. Please be aware that use in damp conditions reduces life span as the carbon clogs up with water molecules.
